What is the difference between C115, C210, and C245 cartridges?
  • C115 cartridges are designed for extremely small components and ultra-fine soldering.
  • C210 cartridges are a balanced option for microscope soldering and small electronics repair.
  • C245 cartridges provide higher thermal capacity for connectors, ground pads, and larger solder joints.

What is the difference between micro soldering and general soldering?

General soldering usually involves larger
joints, wires, connectors, and through-hole components. Micro soldering focuses
on smaller SMD components, fine pads, IC pins, and work that is often performed
under a microscope.

Can I use a micro soldering station for general soldering?

Yes. Models that support C245 cartridges can handle many general electronics soldering tasks, including connectors, wires, and larger PCB joints. For very large metal parts or heavy-gauge wiring,
a higher-thermal-capacity soldering tool may still be more suitable.

What does cartridge-type tip mean?

A cartridge-type tip integrates the soldering tip, heater, and temperature sensor into one replaceable part. This helps the station heat up quickly and maintain responsive temperature recovery during soldering.

Are replacement parts available?

Yes. Replacement soldering cartridges, hot air nozzles, and heating elements are available through the WEP store.
